This is the link to BBC’s iPlayer 29 minute programme. It was filmed around our presentations in Brussels on 11 November:
Besides our petition regarding the Systemic Patterns of Child Snatching and Forced Adoptions in the UK, a father brought his son and was severely attacked by Medway Council as a consequence.
The Brussels filming starts after 13 minutes. The Chairman of the Petitions Committee Cecilia Wikstrom MEP is clear about the violation of the Charter of Fundamental Rights which includes the right to be a parent.
In the program, Dr Dale says “The UK Government will have to apologise for the past and current practice of forced adoption!”
The program also refers to the report When is it ok to remove a child from its birth parents? Its recommendations will be debated in April in a Plenary Session of the Council of Europe in Strasbourg:
- improve the collection of data
- support families more
- development of appropriate criteria and standards for the removal of children from their families to avoid subjective errors
- avoid abusive practices: severing family ties completely, removing children at birth and adoptions without parental consent.
Here’s a UK petition to Stop Forced Adoptions and Removal of Children from Parents and here’s the link to the EU petition to Abolish Adoptions without Parental Consent.
